Competitive Cheer

When cheer squads compete against each other at a competition. Teams perform a 2 and a half minute routine with music that includes stunts, jumps, tumbling. Teams are judged on difficulty and execution.

There are numerous variations of each stunt, multiple entries and dismounts out of the stunt. Stunts vary at each level (level 1–6 according to the USASF). Each level increases the difficulty of the stunt.

How do you get that unbelievable hyper extended jump? Its two parts practice, four parts technique, six parts stretching, and eight parts exercises. That’s right… exercises!
